Sentence

A sentence is a unit of speech consisting of a meaningful arrangement of words containing a subject and predicate .

Subject and Predicate

Every sentence consist of two parts,expressed or understood.
The person or thing of which we think is called the subject.
What we think about the subject is called the Predicate.
Examples:.
 The rich are not always happy.
 Ali plays the football
In first sentence The rich is subject and are not always happy is predicate.
and in second sentence Ali is subject and plays the football is predicate.
The subject does not always come out the beginning of the sentence.
For Examples:
How badly you sing!
Down dropped the breeze!
In first sentence You is subject but not used in start,actually he wants to say "You sing how badly"
In second sentence The breeze is subject but not used in start,actually sentence is "The breeze dropped down"
