Phrase and Clause

Phrase

A group  of words the makes sense but not complete sense is called a phrase.

For Example:
The sun set in the west.
In this sentence "in the west" is a phrase.Because the words "in the west" makes sense but not complete sense without "The sun set"

Clause

A group of words which forms part of a larger sentence,and contain a subject and predicate is called clause.
For Example:
He wears a shirt which looks nice.
